The iOS game Fishy Meal is a play on the standard platformer obstacle of the piranha jumping out of the water between two platforms, where the player has to time his jump to cross. In Fishy Meal you tap the screen, to make the piranha swim and jump out of the water - but you have to time your jumps correctly.[caption id="attachment_25289" align="aligncenter" width="375"] earning coins by munching on enemies[/caption]
I tried to create a game that offers a quick gaming experience (for short play times), but that could get quite addictive, driving players to try again and again to better their score. With Game Center connected, the player is also taunted with the scores of their friends, which are always fun to beat. There are also loads of achievements to accomplish - sum that require persistance, and some, that require skill.
Well, every game has to have coins nowadays. But there is no in-app purchase to purchase coins? You can only earn them by eating their enemies, who lose their gold when they're munched upon. And also, by being a regular player, a random reward appears every now and then, that can boost your wallet.[caption id="attachment_25309" align="alignnone" width="375"] rewarded with 25 free coins[/caption]
Well, sometimes you're doing well, on your way to a new high score, but a tiny amount of lost focus, makes you time your taps wrong. Not to worry, with your hard-earned coins, you can have a chance to continue the game... as if that mistake has never happened.[caption id="attachment_25299" align="alignnone" width="375"] The player has 10 seconds to decide, if his streak was good enough to use their coins to continue playing[/caption] [caption id="attachment_25294" align="alignnone" width="375"] The game continues[/caption]
An iOS game that asks, what if you were the piranha for once?
Play as the piranha from old platformer games. Tap to swim, jump and eat. Don't let anyone cross the water and try to get the highest score.
Incredibly easy to play but difficult to master. Tap furiously or try to find a rhythm to rack up the highest possible score and share the pictures of your success with your friends to show them who's the boss.
