The call for entries of the 2nd edition of IMGA SEA will end on July 31, and on August 22 ends the call for entries fo IMGA MENA If you haven’t submitted your game yet, here are 5 reasons to convince you that it is not too late!
1. Challenge yourself and test your ideas
As a game developer, you may have seen thousands (or even millions) of downloads. But how good is your game? Entering into an IMGA competition gets your game in front of a panel of industry experts who can really give their views on that.
The SEA edition of IMGA received hundreds of entries last year. After an online judging session to determine the nominees, an intensive two-day gathering of judges took place to select the winners. During this judging session, we put journalists, mobile gaming experts and previous winners in the same room with just one mission: PLAY, PLAY and PLAY.
Submitting your game to the IMGA is a great way to get feedback from the biggest names in the industry.
Furthermore, the IMGA aren’t only open to finished projects and published titles. Unpublished games will also be reviewed for the Best Upcoming Game category. Previous Best Upcoming Game winners include Clash Royale, Prune, Framed, and Sara is Missing, which was awarded during the 1st IMGA SEA.
If you have a working demo (APK or Testflight), submit your game and share a current build with the members of our IMGA SEA jury. It’s an excellent opportunity to get feedback on your project from the industry’s best and brightest before releasing your game.
2. Build up your resume
User reviews on the App Store and Google Play are interesting, but wouldn’t you rather have a more formal certification of your talent? As the oldest and most prestigious celebration of outstanding mobile games, the IMGA can really add to your profile in an effective way.
Monument Valley was awarded the Grand Prix during the 11th edition of the IMGA. Popular games like Plants vs. Zombies, Her Story, and Vainglory were all big winners in previous IMGA ceremonies.
So don’t wait, enter your game and add an industry-recognised award to your profile!
3. Connect with industry’s leaders and make your dream comme true
Joining us at the show will give you the chance to meet with our jury members and talk more about your game. You will also get the chance to network with our sponsors and partners.
We also organise an Happy Hour session to give journalists a chance to get to know the nominees right before the ceremony. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet with journalists and media who may want to promote your game among their audience!
If you are still looking for a publisher, this competition may lead you to new possibilities. Companies looking to partner with the hottest up-and-coming mobile game developers always keep their ear to the ground – and few things make quite as loud a rumble as winning an IMGA.
If awarded, you will get more attention from international mobile gaming experts, the press, and more. But it all starts right here, with submitting your game.
4. Support your country
Our main goal is to discover hidden talents, and you probably want your country’s most talented developers to gain visibility and to be recognised for their real value.
Well we want that too! Challenge yourself and your fellow game developers and put your country under our spotlights without even having to do much more than what you have already done!
5. If you win an award, you will automatically be enlisted for the IMGA Global
Yes! The last global edition took place in San Francisco on the 28th February 2017, the next one is scheduled for march 2018. You don’t want to miss it!
Why wait a minute longer? Submissions for the 2nd annual IMGA SEA competition only take a moment to complete, and will close forever on July 31, 2017 (August 22, 2017 for IMGA MENA)
