The Call for Entries for the 13th edition of IMGA Global will end in 40 days. If you haven’t submitted your game yet, here are five very good reasons why you should!
1. Challenge Yourself
As a published game developer, you may have seen thousands (or even millions) of downloads. But is your game any good? Entering into an IMGA competition gets your game in front of a panel of industry experts so that you can find out.
The global edition of IMGA receives more than a thousand entries each year. After an online judging session to determine the nominees, an intensive two-day gathering of judges takes place to determine the winners. During this judging session, we put journalists, mobile gaming experts and previous winners in the same room with just one task: TO PLAY.
Win or lose, submitting your game to the IMGA is a great way to get feedback from some of the biggest names in the industry.
2.Test Your Ideas
The IMGA aren’t only open to finished projects. Unpublished games are encouraged to submit for the Best Upcoming Game category, where our jury will be all too happy to play and critique what you’ve made so far. Previous Best Upcoming Game winners include Clash Royale, Prune, Framed, and Sara is Missing, which was recently awarded during the 1st IMGA SEA.
If you have a working demo (APK or Testflight), submit your game and share a current build with the members of our IMGA Global jury. It’s an excellent opportunity to get feedback on your project from the industry’s best and brightest before releasing your game.
3.Build Up Your Resume
User reviews on the App Store and Google Play are nice, but wouldn’t you rather have a more formal certification of your talent? As the oldest and most prestigious celebration of outstanding mobile games, the IMGA can really add to your profile in an effective way.
Monument Valley was awarded the Grand Prix during the 11th edition of the IMGA. Popular games like Plants vs. Zombies, Her Story, and Vainglory were all big winners in previous IMGA ceremonies. If you want a chance to count your game among them – and have the bragging rights to go with it – the first step is to submit your game for consideration.
Winning an industry-recognized award with plenty of prestige – who wouldn’t want to add that to their profile?
4.Connect With Top People in the Industry
The IMGA Global awards ceremony will be held in San Francisco during GDC 2017. Joining us at the show will give you the chance to meet with our jury members and talk more about your game. You will also get the chance to network with our sponsors and partners like King, Supercell, Chillingo — and maybe even attract their attention!
Previous jury members include Tommy Palm, Alexander Ekvall, Daniel Gray, Alysia Judge, Mark Sorrell, and many more.
We also organize a Happy Hour to give journalists a chance to get to know the nominees right before the ceremony. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet with great people who may want to share your game with their audience!
5.Get Help to Realize Your Dream
If you are still looking for a publisher, this competition may lead you to new possibilities. Companies looking to partner with the hottest up-and-coming mobile game developers always keep their ear to the ground – and few things make quite as loud a rumble as winning an IMGA.
If awarded, you will get more attention from international mobile gaming experts, the press, and more. But it all starts right here, with submitting your game.
Why wait a minute longer? Submissions for the 13th annual IMGA Global competition only take a moment to complete, and will close forever on December 31, 2016. http://www.imgawards.com/mobile-gaming/global/
