PolyBlast is a challenging retro-arcade game with an addictiveness that will take you by surprise! We have invited Lara Noujaim from GameCooks to tell us more about their game.
Could you please tell us more about your team at Game Cooks?
Game Cooks is a mobile gaming studio based in Lebanon with an office in San Francisco. Founded in 2012, the studio has built up a portfolio of over 12 international titles to date on the iTunes App Store and Google Play store – with the latest being Polyblast. Quick to embrace the latest technologies, Game Cooks has entered the world of Virtual Reality to develop a new form of content to entertain an ever-expanding audience. It just recently launched its for racing mobile VR game for GearVR entitled HOVR!
What is the story behind Polyblast?
Polyblast is a favourite among the Game Cooks team members and an ode to the arcade classic space invaders! With a taste for retro-arcade games we wanted this game to be simple and straightforward: you have three points to shoot from descending targets. You have two modes: single player with 4 packs, each pack is comprised of 3 worlds, with 15 levels each… In addition, you have 4 themed worlds in the seasons section… Great content to keep the player entertained and challenged for a long period of time.
What makes your game so addictive?
It is not as easy as it sounds as the game requires speed, precision and some calculated planning to complete the level with the limited number of blasts available. However, The game starts off easy and as you progress, it picks up speed and difficulty and in no time you will find yourself hooked! Not only that, we added a modern touch to the retro-arcade which you will definitely feel in the game and you just can’t get enough of the shapes and colors!
How do you feel about winning Jury’s Honorable mention?
We are ECSTATIC! It feels great! We were so happy that the judges chose our game.
